Jackson Hole Scenic Float Trip

Breakfast with the Eagles

Private Snake River Float & Riverside Brunch

Begin your morning in Jackson Hole with one of the most iconic and intimate river experiences in the American West. Breakfast with the Eagles is a fully private morning float on the Snake River, paired with a fresh riverside brunch at our secluded tipi camp. Reserved exclusively for your party, this premier experience is designed for guests who value privacy, authenticity, and elevated comfort. Ideal for couples, families, photographers, and multi-generational groups, it offers a rare opportunity to slow down and experience Jackson Hole at its quietest and most magical. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, as morning departures are intentionally limited to preserve the serenity of the river.

Your experience begins with a peaceful 1.5-hour float in our restored antique wooden dory boats—among the rarest and most elegant on the river today. Originally designed in the 1940s for the McKenzie River, these handcrafted boats provide exceptional comfort with padded seating, supportive chair backs, wool blankets, and hot beverages served while we float. As you depart, expansive views of the Teton Range, Gros Ventre Range, and Snake River Range unfold around you. The quiet is profound—broken only by the gentle dip of the oars and the distant call of birds along the riverbanks—creating a deeply calming and immersive experience.

This stretch of river offers some of the most remarkable bald eagle viewing in Jackson Hole, with more than eight active bald eagle nesting sites along the float. Morning hours provide optimal conditions for wildlife activity, and guests frequently observe bald eagles soaring overhead, along with ducks, geese, beavers, moose, deer, elk, and, on very rare occasions, bears. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, this tour consistently delivers exceptional opportunities to observe animals in their natural habitat, uninterrupted by crowds or noise.

The float concludes at our private ranch take-out, followed by a short, scenic walk to tipi camp where brunch awaits—served exclusively for your party. Enjoy a thoughtfully curated spread featuring homemade quiche, bagels with cream cheese, lox and smoked trout, black-and-blue sausage, organic berries and fresh fruit, along with orange juice, hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Gluten-free and other dietary accommodations are available upon request. If the morning air remains crisp, a candlelit, fire-warmed tipi provides a cozy space to relax as coats come off and conversation flows. Designed with comfort and accessibility in mind, this experience is well suited for guests of all ages and abilities, including those who prefer not to be on the water.

Members of your party may choose to meet directly at tipi camp to enjoy brunch and time at the ranch, where our Belgian draft horses—gentle giants of the working horse world—often greet guests and welcome a friendly visit. Optional add-ons, including a vintage wooden wagon ride after brunch, allow you to further personalize your morning. More than a river float, Breakfast with the Eagles is a fully immersive experience—one that celebrates stillness, craftsmanship, wildlife, and meaningful moments shared in nature. Advance reservations are strongly recommended to ensure availability.

Enhance your day on the water with a rare opportunity to experience both river and ranch in one seamless, beautifully paced adventure. The Whole Horse Experience is an add-on designed to extend your private adventure into the surrounding landscape, adding depth and variety without changing the relaxed rhythm of your day. Ideal for families, couples, photographers, and multi-generational groups, this thoughtfully curated experience offers an authentic connection to the land and the horses that define life along the river in Jackson Hole.

Reservations from $750

At camp, you’ll be introduced to our Belgian draft horses—true gentle giants who live on the property and are accustomed to welcoming guests. You and your family are encouraged to take your time petting them, learning about their role on the ranch, and capturing photographs. Their impressive size inspires awe, while their calm, affectionate demeanor quickly puts both adults and children at ease. The quiet rhythm of the horses, the sound of cottonwood leaves in the breeze, and the open meadow setting create a sense of calm that feels both grounding and rare.

The experience continues with a leisurely horse-drawn ride through our private, cottonwood-forested ranch. Your group is comfortably seated in a wheeled sleigh as the horses pull you gently through the trees, offering a peaceful, storybook-like journey that feels playful yet deeply authentic. For many families, this moment becomes the most talked-about part of the day long after their Jackson Hole visit ends. This is not a performance or a ride in the traditional sense, but a quiet, meaningful interaction designed to foster connection—with the horses, the land, and each other.

FAQs

1

Is Breakfast with the Eagles a private tour?

Yes, this is a fully private experience reserved exclusively for your party.  On the river, you will have a private boat, and at tipi camp, the camp is yours to enjoy for the morning.

2

How long does the Breakfast with the Eagles experience last?

While the total trip time is always tailored to each group, most guests choose to spend about 3 hours with us, including the float and time at tipi camp to enjoy brunch.

3

What wildlife might we see on this tour?

Guests frequently see bald eagles, and their nesting sites along the river.  Other wildlife may include ducks, geese, beavers (or their dams), moose, elk, deer, and rarely, larger mammals, like bears.  Wildlife is never guaranteed, but morning provides an excellent opportunity to spot these animals in the wild.

4

What type of boats are used on the river?

We run all our tours in wooden dories, originally designed in the 1940’s for running the McKenzie River in Oregon.  These handcrafted boats offer exceptional comfort and stability on the river.

Is this experience suitable for children and seniors?

Yes, this private tour is appropriate for most guests. For the river, our recommendation is that children 3 years of age and older will find it most enjoyable.  All passengers must be able to fit a life jacket while on the river.  If a river experience is not something your child would be able to do, simply arrange to meet the rest of your party at Tipi Camp to fully enjoy the morning together.

What if someone in our group prefers not to be on the water?

Accommodations can be made for guests to meet directly at tipi camp to enjoy brunch and time at camp.

7

What should guests wear?

Please dress in comfortable layers best suited for the day’s conditions.  You should expect to remain dry while you float, and wool blankets and hot beverages may be provided.

9

10

Is advanced booking recommended?

Yes, morning departures are limited.  We recommend making reservations in advance to ensure that the date you want is available. You may request reservations online, or contact us.
