Add a Whole Horse Experience to your Morning Adventure

Enhance your day on the water with a rare opportunity to experience both river and ranch in one seamless, beautifully paced adventure. The Whole Horse Experience is an add-on designed to extend your private adventure into the surrounding landscape, adding depth and variety without changing the relaxed rhythm of your day. Ideal for families, couples, photographers, and multi-generational groups, this thoughtfully curated experience offers an authentic connection to the land and the horses that define life along the river in Jackson Hole.

Reservations from $750

At camp, you’ll be introduced to our Belgian draft horses—true gentle giants who live on the property and are accustomed to welcoming guests. You and your family are encouraged to take your time petting them, learning about their role on the ranch, and capturing photographs. Their impressive size inspires awe, while their calm, affectionate demeanor quickly puts both adults and children at ease. The quiet rhythm of the horses, the sound of cottonwood leaves in the breeze, and the open meadow setting create a sense of calm that feels both grounding and rare.

The experience continues with a leisurely horse-drawn ride through our private, cottonwood-forested ranch. Your group is comfortably seated in a wheeled sleigh as the horses pull you gently through the trees, offering a peaceful, storybook-like journey that feels playful yet deeply authentic. For many families, this moment becomes the most talked-about part of the day long after their Jackson Hole visit ends. This is not a performance or a ride in the traditional sense, but a quiet, meaningful interaction designed to foster connection—with the horses, the land, and each other.

FAQs

1

Is Breakfast with the Eagles a private tour?

Yes, this is a fully private experience reserved exclusively for your party.  On the river, you will have a private boat, and at tipi camp, the camp is yours to enjoy for the morning.

2

How long does the Breakfast with the Eagles experience last?

While the total trip time is always tailored to each group, most guests choose to spend about 3 hours with us, including the float and time at tipi camp to enjoy brunch.

3

What wildlife might we see on this tour?

Guests frequently see bald eagles, and their nesting sites along the river.  Other wildlife may include ducks, geese, beavers (or their dams), moose, elk, deer, and rarely, larger mammals, like bears.  Wildlife is never guaranteed, but morning provides an excellent opportunity to spot these animals in the wild.

4

What type of boats are used on the river?

We run all our tours in wooden dories, originally designed in the 1940’s for running the McKenzie River in Oregon.  These handcrafted boats offer exceptional comfort and stability on the river.

5

Is this experience suitable for children and seniors?

Yes, this private tour is appropriate for most guests. For the river, our recommendation is that children 3 years of age and older will find it most enjoyable.  All passengers must be able to fit a life jacket while on the river.  If a river experience is not something your child would be able to do, simply arrange to meet the rest of your party at Tipi Camp to fully enjoy the morning together.

6

What if someone in our group prefers not to be on the water?

Accommodations can be made for guests to meet directly at tipi camp to enjoy brunch and time at camp.

7

What food is included with brunch?

We serve homemade quiche, bagels with cream cheese, lox and smoked trout, sausage, organic fruit and berries, orange juice, and hot beverages.  Dietary restrictions may be accommodated with advanced notice, so please reach out if you have allergies, or sensitivities that we need to know about.

8

What should guests wear?

Please dress in comfortable layers best suited for the day’s conditions.  You should expect to remain dry while you float, and wool blankets and hot beverages may be provided.

9

Are there restroom facilities at tipi camp?

Yes, we have toilet and hand-washing facilities at tipi camp.

10

Is advanced booking recommended?

Yes, morning departures are limited.  We recommend making reservations in advance to ensure that the date you want is available. You may request reservations online, or contact us.
