Float Trip on the Snake River

Wooden Boat Tour & Dinner

Fine Dining, Riverside

As afternoon turns to evening, you are invited to experience one of the most exclusive meals in Jackson Hole. This fully private dinner river trip is reserved for your party and offers a rare blend of scenic floating, refined outdoor dining, and complete immersion in nature. Ideal for couples, milestone celebrations, families, or corporate groups, this experience is thoughtfully designed for guests who value privacy, exceptional service, and a true sense of place. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, as availability is intentionally limited to preserve the intimacy of the evening.

Your adventure begins with a relaxing float down the Snake River aboard a restored antique wooden drift boat. Originally designed in the 1940s for the McKenzie River, these beautiful boats have been meticulously restored and outfitted with padded seating, supportive seat backs, wool blankets, binoculars, and a knowledgeable guide. This calm stretch of river includes active bald eagle nesting sites, making it one of the most reliable wildlife corridors in Jackson Hole for spotting these majestic birds. As twilight settles in, the quiet is broken only by the sound of moving water and distant bird calls echoing off the riverbanks. Guests often observe bald eagles, beavers, otters, moose, elk, deer, and a wide variety of birdlife while enjoying the rare solitude of being among the last on the river.

At the end of your float, your boat pulls out at our private ranch landing, followed by a short, scenic walk to tipi camp. Appetizers await beside a stone-ringed fire pit, featuring favorites such as charcuterie, hummus with pita, caprese skewers, nuts, and olives. Dinner is then prepared to order by your private chef, with premium entrées selected in advance—including bison, wagyu beef, halibut, salmon, black cod, or portabella mushroom—served family-style alongside seasonal grilled vegetables, fresh local bread, corn on the cob, and salad. Dessert, often berries and cream, is best enjoyed inside a candlelit, fire-warmed tipi as the evening unfolds at an unhurried pace.

The atmosphere at camp is intentionally relaxed and deeply immersive. Lantern light, crackling fire, and sweeping views of the Teton Range, Gros Ventre Range, and Snake River Range create an elegant yet rustic setting that invites meaningful connection and conversation. Designed with comfort and accessibility in mind, this experience is welcoming for guests of all ages and abilities. Guests may also have time to meet our Belgian draft horses that live near camp. More than a dinner, this is a complete Jackson Hole evening—crafted with care, fully customizable, and designed to be remembered long after you return home.

What a Way to Finish a Great Trip

This was our last night in Wyoming and what a way to end a wonderful trip. We met Christina at the meeting point where she assured us of all the Coronavirus precautions and she introduced our guides Cassie had myself and Husband (60 yrs +) and Colton had the rest of our family Mom Dad kids 9yrs, 6yrs and 3 1/2 years. What thrill to go down the river in the evening. Cassie was so easy and we learned and spotted so much wildlife, more than we had seen on a wildlife tour. It was just beautiful, we arrived at our dinner spot and Dutch met us and got us seated and comfortable taking our dining choices. We had halibut (perfect!!!) my son and wife had Salmon (they raved about it) everything was done to perfection no detail left undone. After dinner we were taken to a teepee and relaxed, then we had a wonderful desert, just light enough after a very filling dinner. The kids got to make make samores!!! They were thrilled, Thanks to Dutch and his 'dream team of Colton, Cassie, and Christina' for a perfect ending to a beautiful part of Wyoming and letting us enjoy your world in a wonderful way.

3

What wildlife might we see during the river float?

This stretch of river is well known for bald eagle sightings, but guests may also see ducks, geese, beavers, river otters, moose, elk, deer and other local wildlife.

Yes.  We welcome all ages.  All guests must wear a life jacket on the river, and we generally recommend this tour for children aged 3 and older.  Guests always have the option of meeting us at Tipi Camp, rather than floating, and this is a great solution for families with very small children.

Yes.  This tour sells out far in advance, so we recommend making reservations as soon as you have your available dates.  You can make a reservation request online or contact us over the phone to book your tour.
