Rustic Luxury in Jackson Hole

A Candlelit Tipi Is Inviting On A Cold Winter Night In Jackson Hole Wyoming
The warm glow of candles set up at Tipi Camp invite you to enjoy rustic luxury in Jackson Hole, with good food, good friends and good, old-fashioned fun.

The Scandinavians have long known that the secret to happiness during a long winter is to create “hygge”, a feeling of coziness and warmth.  There are lots of ways to experience hygge: soft blankets, a warm cup of tea, great conversation with friends and family over soft light – these are all elements of hygge.  Surround yourself with these things and enjoy a comfort that sustains through a long cold winter.  Here at Tipi Camp, we’ve created the perfect winter escape.  Imagine yourself sitting next to a warm fire, a hot drink in hand, soft candlelight dancing off the tipi walls, while enjoying quality time with friends and family.  This is how we enjoy our long winters here in Jackson Hole – rustic elegance with all the right comforts.

Making Plans to Visit Jackson Hole

To fully enjoy rustic luxury in Jackson Hole, we recommend planning ahead.

Making Reservations

Book early!  Especially around the holidays, Jackson can be busy.  Plan well enough ahead of time so that your desired itinerary is available.  If you can book in your activities and your lodging six months in advance, we recommend doing so.  It’s even better if you can plan a year in advance.  You’re much more likely to have your choice of winter activities and lodging.  If you’re more of a last minute planner, that’s alright!  You might get lucky and find a few open slots that fit your availability perfectly.  It never hurts to ask.  As long as you’re prepared to be flexible, you can create a memorable winter visit to the area.

Luxury Lodging in Teton Village or Jackson

Decide on your lodging location.  If you’re skiers, you’ll want to be at the base of Teton Village, where you have easy access to the mountain.  Both the Four Seasons and Caldera House can offer a luxury experience at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  Organize some ski lessons if you’re not a skier and take advantage of the excellent instruction that their staff can provide.  If you prefer to spend your evenings downtown, we recommend Hotel Jackson for a boutique luxury stay.  It’s downtown location is within walking distance of restaurants, shops and galleries.  The historic Wort Hotel offers a classic western experience, complete with live music.  It’s right off the town square, so you’ll have easy access to all of downtown Jackson.

Book A Vintage Sleigh Ride

Schedule your luxury sleigh ride with Jackson Hole Vintage Adventures.  Our most popular experience is the Dinner Sleigh Ride.  Your sleigh ride starts out winding through a cottonwood forest before venturing out onto the river levee where you’ll have views of the Teton Range as you glide alongside the wild and scenic Snake River.  After arriving in camp, you’ll have time to explore on your own or sit next to the campfire with delicious appetizers while the final touches are made to dinner.  Dinner is served in the dining tent, a heated tent at Tipi Camp, offering an off-the-grid fine dining experience.  Retire to a heated tipi after dinner with a digestif and enjoy dessert while you relax with family or friends.  Stay as long as you like before shuffling off to bed back at your hotel.  *Alcohol is not served at Tipi Camp, but guests are invited to bring their own and we will provide drink ware for you to enjoy your beverages responsibly.

Plan your Activities

Choose your adventures.  There are lots of winter activities in Jackson Hole.  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has world-class terrain and few lift lines.  Powder days or busy holidays are the exception.  Take a half day guided tour through Grand Teton National park on a “fat bike”, a special bike best suited for winter road conditions.  Check out the local wildlife on a full day winter wildlife safari with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris.  Go dogsledding with Call of the Wyld, a local outfitter offering hour tours from Teton Village.  Schedule a private stargazing experience for you and your family or friends with experts from a local non-profit organization.  Leave yourself enough time for a private rejuvenating yoga session with a local instructor.
